Thrifting in Québec City
Québec City has its own secondhand vocabulary. Friperie and seconde main are just as natural here as thrift store, and smaller independent shops are a big part of the city’s treasure-hunting personality.
Limoilou and Saint-Roch are especially useful for vintage and independent friperies, including Le Petit Couture and Lucia F. Larger Renaissance locations give shoppers more traditional nonprofit thrift selection with clothing, housewares, books and electronics.
A good Québec City thrift day should mix the bigger names with independent local friperies. The smaller shops are often where the most unexpected finds turn up.
